International Business Machines (IBM) Corporation has decided to help the residents of an Indian city.

International Business Machines (IBM) Corporation has decided to help the residents of an Indian city. IBM news reported that the corporation would help Visakhapatnam deal with the natural calamities that has struck the city among others.
IBM news today informed that the management of the company would release a detailed disaster mitigation report by September. This effort is a part of its previously launched SmartCity Challenge Program, which was launched to serve a number of Indian cities.
Government sources have reported that an Indian official, D. Venkata Rao, convened to meet at the city’s collectorate. Its senior employee, Mamta Sharma, represented the high-tech company in the gathering. Ms. Sharma said that a number of disasters challenged the city. Other attendants of the high profile meeting include officials of various local department and district administration officials.
IBM Breaking news affirmed that the company would comprehensively study the effects of the cyclone, called Hudhud, along with many consulting stakeholders. It would then finally recommend solutions.
Company sources revealed that international experts would be requested for assistance. Before finalizing their ideas, the organization’s team would meet with officials of various different authorities. The officials have stated that they would consider other calamity management plans before they introduce their relief management plan for the city.
The officials of administration and local bodies addressed the company’s representatives and informed them about the harmful effects of the disaster ‘Hudhud’. Market sources reported that the employees of the authorities have also shared their disaster mitigation suggestions with the corporation, which appreciated the administration’s cooperation for the execution of the relief plan.
Company sources further stated that the IBM’s management believes in technology to play a significant role in mitigating the effects of calamities. The heavily populated country is not new for the corporation, as it has previously developed a solid waste management plan for Allahabad. Since last November, it has been working on the relief project. Industry sources claim that a number of steps have been taken to complete the project, such as data collection and Geographic information system mapping.
Media sources have informed that mapping was done to improve the coordination between the corporation and its Indian partners. Experts presented their view that IBM’s initiative would significantly improve its reputation in the largest democracy of the world. The corporate giant and the city authorities should now jointly devise strategies and take steps to speed up the disaster management project; otherwise, they would not be able to achieve their desired objectives.
