Microsoft Invests In Subsea Fiber Optic


Microsoft invests in fiber cables to ensure the quick transfer of data
Microsoft Corporation has announced its plan to diversify the company’s operations by investing in a new subsea fiber cable venture. It is said that the company wishes to expand its services to new horizons where it is particularly targeting United Kingdom and Asia along with several other regions.
Google Inc. and Apple Inc. are gaining immense traction because of their cloud services. thus, considering their growth trajectory, Microsoft Corporation wishes to follow their footsteps to deploy more investments and make their cloud computing services on par with the other companies.
Microsoft products and services are amazing all they need is more care which will now be provided since the company has collaborated with Aqua Comms, Hibernia and fiber companies to serve the need. It is said that two of these fiber cable firms are known for connected North America with United Kingdom as well as Ireland via Atlantic Ocean. The company wishes to spread the routes through Canada, Brean, Ireland, Halifax and Ballinspittle.
The cables that will be spread across Asia are expected to go through the Pacific Ocean. The company has also joined hands with certain Chinese firm so that they can construct a “New Cross Pacific Cable Network”, as reported by latest Microsoft update. The firms by which MSFT has collaborated include China Telecom, China Mobile, KT Corporation, China Unicorn and Chunghwa Telecom.  The “New Cross Pacific Cable Network” is said to create routes and also connect regions like Japan, Oregon, Hillsboro, Taiwan and South Korea.
According to Microsoft news today, this will allow them to speed up the data transfer process and will also allow them to assist several other regions by offering similar speed for data transfer. According to the deal that has been signed between these companies and Microsoft states that they will also have to establish their office in United States.
The company’s aim is to bolster and increase the flow of traffic for their cloud services like Azure and office 365.  According to David Crowley, the managing director who deals with enabling network mentions, "When we look in the future with these investments, we believe that our customers will see that Microsoft is pulling together all the components necessary to make its cloud services the most reliable, accessible and secure."
The cloud computing giant is currently looking forward to the launch of its operating system which is expected to be a game changer for the company once it is launched.  Thus with such initiatives the company seeks to enrich its Azure and Office 365 experience along with the OS.
