Twitter Is Unaware Of Its Inactive Users

Twitter is not in favor of disclosing the number the inactive users on its social media platform

Twitter Inc. has been left behind by miles if the social media platform is said to be compared with Facebook. The micro blogging platform trails Facebook on the basis of monthly active users. It does not have a large user database if compared to Facebook hence the performance in the market is comparatively low. Recently it is believed that the social media giant is unaware of the inactive users it has on its platform, according to latest speculations about Twitter news. The company has stopped disclosing the number of its inactive users as well as the percentage that shows a user database that takes ‘no discernible action’ on Twitter’s app.
The not disclosing part is making it harder for analysts as well as observers to know about the business and performance of the company’s core business. It is still unclear whether its business is growing or dying. So far, the company has declined a request for comments regarding this matter. In the first quarter of the 2015 fiscal year, the social media platform reported around 302 million active users monthly on its platform which increased by 14 million when compared to the previous quarter.
A report on Business Insider previously published showed independent analysis that the active user data base of Twitter is now declining as well as a growth is noticed in the number of people that has signed up for the social media platform but are not actually doing anything.
It is believed that Twitter user growth is not increasing in recent times and it has come down to a halt, as reported by latest Twitter update.
Business Insider reports “The statistic describing users who don't seem to be doing anything on Twitter was calculated from Twitter's 10-Q filings with the SEC. Those disclosures have all (until now) shown the percentage of users who are only counted as "users" because another application they are logged into automatically pinged Twitter's system, even if they didn't do anything to generate the ping.” To justify that, only 25 million users or 8.5 percent of the 300 million user data base were in it in the fourth quarter of last fiscal year.
Twitter stated in an interview to Business Insider that all of these are the real users that have signed up on the social media network with their real names and genuine personal information and they are not machines or robots by any means. These people are real who seek to have Twitter content.
Twitter has been failing to attract new users at the moment and it is trying everything to grow its user data base.
