Apple Pioneers A Facial Identification Feature For Its iPhone

 apple tech

The American high-tech phone-manufacturing corporation, Apple, has pioneered a facial recognition feature to unlock its phones. It has been granted the patent to employ facial identification for unlocking its mobile device. Apple news suggested that the phone’s camera would initially capture a picture of the face of the user, examine it, and permit the user to use the phone if the picture matches the face of the owner. It is expected that this new innovative feature would play an important role in minimizing the time taken for using the device.
Currently, phone users need to move a slide bar and enter a password. This new feature would ensure that the memory of the users is least burdened as passwords need to be memorized. It would only use the owner’s image for unlocking the phone. Apple news today suggested that this tool could be employed to recognize other authorized users, such as friends or family members, as well.
It is anticipated by apple breaking news that this advance functionality if the phone would ensure that the device is able to capture the images of the user in a very timely manner. If there were a mismatch between the user’s image and the captured image, then the phone would lock up. In this manner, the unauthorized usage of the phone can be avoided.
This development would also be able to track the movement of the phone to find details regarding the usage of the phone. It is expected that the database of the face identification would be capable of storing an associated unlocking profile of each legitimate user. The endeavors of the company mark the future perspectives of the company. Market experts and analysts have also critically acclaimed and supported the efforts of the company in pursuing this project.
This profile would indicate the functioning of the applications of the unlocked phone. Apart from Apple, other modern phone manufacturers are also interested in securing their phones. Recently, the Japanese phone producer displayed its iris-analyzing prototype that allows the phone users to access applications, online accounts, and phone contacts by viewing at an infrared identification sensor.
Apple is not the only pioneer of the facial recognition technology as Android Lollipop users already use an identical facial detection known as Trusted face. This feature is an extension of the facial detection that was introduced in Android Ice Cream Sandwich. Now it is yet to be seen that at what time the American phone manufacturer feels comfortable enough to introduce this new security feature.
