The rivalry between Apple and Samsung dates back to almost a decade. Both of these companies are the powerhouses of the smartphone market. It all started when Samsung introduced its first ever Galaxy model smartphone to compete with Apple’s iPhone. Both companies have now manufactured the sixth generation smartphones of their flagship products. Despite of being the arch rivals of each other, the companies are still in a professional relationship. Previously there were rumors regarding Samsung latest update that the company would be making display screen for Apple’s devices only.
Samsung has finally established a new 200 men workforce that would only focus on making display screen for Apple devices. According to Bloomberg, “Samsung Display, the conglomerate's screen-making subsidiary, has brought together about 200 employees who will work exclusively on Apple's account.” The newly formed team was established on April 1 which would specially cater all the needs of Apple for display screen for its product line that include iPhonesiPads, and MacBook. Together, the biggest technology companies are bolstering their business and professional ties.
As Bloomberg reports, it is believed that any information will only be allowed to share with the group because these details are not yet been announced publicly. Bloomberg has gained information from the people with direct knowledge of the matter.
Samsung miserably failed when Samsung Galaxy S5 was launched and it failed to recover ever since then. Hence, Apple became the uncrowned king of the industry. However, as reported by Samsung news that they seeks to make a comeback again with Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge models. The company is now more dependent on its other business than the smartphone one. The display and semiconductor sector of the company is performing better than other. An analyst at Englewood, Jerry Kang stated “The new exclusive team for Apple implies that the relationship between Samsung and Apple has improved. This also suggests that Samsung Display will win screen orders from Apple, such as for the Apple Watch.”
The tech giant not only seeks to strengthen ties on by providing displays to Apple but also wishes to do something in the semiconductor region as well. Rumors suggest that Samsung will also be manufacturing the processors for the next Apple iPhone. The A9 processor chips that Apple uses will be made by the Korean smartphone maker.
Samsung stocks and operating profit decline by 31 percent in its first quarter of the fiscal year. The company is all set to recover all the losses it has made in the previous year.
