Twitter Lets You Receive Direct Messages From Anyone Now

 twitter inc

For many years, Twitter has been testing the feature that lets the people choose to receive the direct messages from the users on its platform, regardless of the accounts following each other or not. Earlier, the direct message could only be exchanged between the users if they were following each other, making it a pre requisite. Latest Twitter news is about the feature that has been rolled out where users can send the DMs without having to follow each other. In 2013, this was rolled out to a larger base of users on Twitter. However this was never introduced as an option for the general users. This fact has been changed yesterday when the social network giant made it open for all the users to cherish this feature where they can communicate in DMs without following or being followed by someone.
For some personalities and journalists, the communication had been a troublesome due to the compulsory factor of only getting or sending DMs after the follow process. The private communication between these users was not happening effectively. Also for the journalists or reporters, the connections or sources they have might become public since they are bound to tweet the personnel and make them your follower in order for you to contact them via direct message later.
In the past, some of the brands and verified users were provided the ability to share messages in inbox without the pre requisite. However, now the feature has been open for all the users. The users can turn this setting on in order to receive direct message from anyone. reports that the feature has begun rolling out; just in case you haven’t seen it in your Settings option, check it again later.
The social network giant has not only introduced this change but is also aiming to update the rules related to messaging so the users can revert back to DMs without being worried about the fact that the other user follows you or not.
And not to forget the newly added feature, a separate Direct Message button shall appear on the profile pages on iPhone and also Android. The button will only appear on the profile pages that have enabled this feature where you can DM them directly. This can obviously show who has enabled it and who has not.
So, if the users have enabled the “Receive Direct Messages from anyone setting” and they began receiving abuses or spam, they have the option to block that user from getting messages from them in future.
